Drain Down

“In 2010 there were £256m of claims associated with water damage in properties, the winter months generating twice the volume of claims as the warmer months.” – Association of British Insurers

It is important to drain down water systems if you are leaving a property vacant. Any water remaining in the system can escape as a result of frozen pipes, copper theft or vandalism. The escaping water can cause major structural and decorative problems. It is also worth bearing in mind that a system drained down, removes the chance for the potentially fatal Legionella bacteria to develop in stagnant unused water reservoirs within the system.

When the reinstatement of the water supply is required our project team would be only too pleased to manage this action for you.
